      GW2Fans is searching for newswriters & moderators, if you are interested in one of the following, feel free to PM Laida. We do not have a limit on the amount of people that we will accept this time.


      Website Moderators' tasks:
      - Forum moderation (reading, editting, moving, deleting posts and threads)
      - User moderation (user support, user infractions, warning & banning users)
      - Grammar police for written articles
      - Fansite & Guild management
      - Keep all stickies up-to-date
      - More tasks possible in the future...

      Newsposter's tasks:
      - Posting news articles based on RSS feeds
      - Posting articles, based on your own opinion (similar to blogging, reviewing, etc...)
      - Mailing (or by voice if you like) developers for interviews (we have permission)
      - Anything else you'd like to do...

      If you'd like, you can combine different tasks or only do a few! You may help where you want! Together with any task, you'll get more "power" on the site & forums, you'll get a shiny user title and lots more respect!

      If you want to help out, there are a few requirements that need to be met


      Requirements:
      - Aged 18 or above
      - You need to be fluent in English (especially if you intend to write articles)
      - Well mannered, calm, patient personality to avoid trouble with the users
      - Able to have at least a daily look on our website & forums (for forum admins)
      - Able to write at least 2-3 short articles with provided RSS feeds every week (for news admin)
      - Able to write at least 1 original article every month (for news admin)

      As you see we don't ask much in terms of activity and how frequent you'll need to perform your tasks. We hope to expand our team with quite a few people who all do a bit of the work. If anyone wants to spam our site with content and moderate 24/7, that can be done, but it's not a requirement. We'd like to keep it enjoyable and relaxed for our administrators as well :)

      Keep in mind that we don't have an opening 'just' to moderate the forums (edit & delete threads). We are searching for people that truly want to contribute in getting GW2 news out there.

        I apply for this one laida for us to communicate easier it is handy that i speak Dutch. I (personally) think i know alot about GW2 and am checking the GW2 site everyday for news etc. i check this site everyday aswell. Im not really a Newsposter i must say. but im definitely a GW2 Junkie and could be a Moderator. I speak English ofcourse :) im 18, etc etc. Let me hear what you think

        Going to await more applications (give it a week or 2?), want to make sure all tasks get devided and we don't end up with only 10 forum moderators, hehe :)

        I'd say get rid of the "18 and above" and simply put "mature". I met a whole alot "kids" that were more mature than "18 and above" :S

        If I could, I'd pick an age requirement of 30+ :-)

        Not going to debate on requirements, but it's not only "maturity" that makes me want older users to help out.

        Well I dont want any title or responsibility really but Im always ready to give a hand to this page with newest news and feeds, when Im not sleeping im always online at twitter xD and I follow GW2 and arenanet accounts, also I check other GW2 sources daily, so Ill always post any new thing Ill find there if u want and its still not posted here already and a moderator could edit my post to make it look better like u did sometimes instead of a simple link with my opinion.

        We already have such a script. The RSS feeds automaticaly get posted in the administrator section, it is up to the news poster to grab that content, make a summary with his own words, add an image, etc... and post it in our own news section :)

        We'd rather not just make RSS feeds apear instantly in the public sections without any modification. You'd get a lot of double newsposts as well and it's not that search-engine friendly.

        I'd definitely be interested in helping out in some shape or form, done some moderating in the past and I do have the time. I'm quite a newbie around here though, but I'll post a PM to you Laida later on today or tomorrow.

        If all goes well, all the new newswriters, moderators and admins will be announced on the 11th of November. So if you're still interested in joining the crew, make sure to send a message before that date.

        We've recieved 11 applications so far.

        In total there will only be 4 people joining the squad. 2 of them are already chosen (they will recieve a PM tonight), 2 more will be chosen on thursday when we know all applications are in.

        The decisions are mainly based on experience and knowledge of English.
