In my spare time, when snow is falling outside my window and cold is pressing on its pane and there is no new information about, for me, the most anticipated game, I love to make myself a hot cup of Earl Grey, sit back behind my computer and watch the good old gameplay videos from this year's Gamescom.
There is a video I can't take my eyes off and so I wanted to share with everyone that hasn't seen it yet and the ones that already have. It is quite awsome!
The live demo beggins with a Necromancer overlooking the entire Queensdale. The view really does justice to the beautiful landscape that can be toured with a help of many gameplay videos found on youtube or on our own gw2fans “media” section.
First skill we get to see in the very beginning is called Death Shroud and it looks really amazing. While the skill is being performed I can't help but notice the great lighting system and colours, even the shadows from the trees look real. Death Shroud looks really cool and what is even more important it sounds useful and gives Necromancer a better down state to other professions.
Demo continues with a great basic class presentation and a time limited tour of Queensdale. From The Garrison they visit a cave. On the way they explain about minions and how they can be summoned out of thin air, which I think is very useful. After they exit the cave, they enter an event where they have to save logging tools from being stolen.
They visit a karma vendor and explain how it works. It is good to have more ways of achieving a certain goal. They continue down a path which soon brings them to a so called mini boss, where they help other players to defeat the champion spider. They equally share the loot.
Locust Swarm and Poison Cloud look like a great AOE skills and even better when used in a combination and it is something I really can't wait to try out! For as much as it is known about Necromancers, mine will be holding a Scepter in his main hand and a Warhorn for an off-hand weapon. Utillity skills most likely general; I was never a minion fan.
The night falls over the valley and soon comes the end of a great presentation. ArenaNet receives a loud applause, I believe is earned tenfold.
I am usually a plater when it comes to MMORPG, but with the four professions known, I find it hard to decide which I like the most. While gravity pulls me to Warrior I can't help but think just how tempting a Necromancer is.
I finish my Earl Grey and the video I set to watch ends. Much is left unknown but the thing that is certain to me is; this was definitely my cup of tea!
