I know what you mean, in isolation they are, but I feel that in game they will blend a little more into the background. We shall see :)

One of the problems Arenanet have is in being an American company yet trying to make a game for a world audience. Finances will dictate that they use 'local' voice actors in the main, and writers with that same new world view. I should be able to live with that. I personally found the voice acting in the skill videos a lot more difficult (I hated them), though the more recent Necro and Guardian ones were toned down quite a bit.
