About TakeTwo
Here you will find some useful information to help you get to know TakeTwo [TKT] and what we are about as a gaming organisation. We have compiled this information so that those of you interested in joining us - friends or fellow gamers that know existing members or really like what you see - can get a snap shot of who we are, where we have come from and what we are about.
What is TakeTwo?
TakeTwo is an EU-based, invite-only, multi-gaming clan focused on PvP combat whilst also maintaining a large interest in raiding. We are a close group of gamers involved in several MMO, FPS and RTS communities including Star Wars The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2, Starcraft 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. TKT is an invite-only clan comprised of mature, skilled and dedicated members that have decades of gaming experience between then. Despite being an EU-based clan, TKT has members from all over the world, all with the same passion and dedication for gaming. TKT is an invite-only clan and as such the only way to get in is to recieve an invite from one of the Leaders or Officers. Despite this, TKT is constantly changing and evolving; we aren't against opening up an application process later on should the need arise.
Rules? What Rules?
We believe that real life is the most important thing to everyone in our clan. We appreciate that things can happen that may put a dampener on our members gaming schedules, and may lead to prolonged leaves of absense. That's why we have a robust and flexible approach to membership. Due to our invite-only nature, we have room enough to dispence with the usual hardcore rules that most communities subject their members to so you are unlikely to find any activity rules, beta rules etc etc simply because we make sure our members fit in with the schedules and demands we have long before they join. There is no inactivity policy either; members who are invited to join TakeTwo will always have a spot in TakeTwo.
The TakeTwo Community
The TKT community is a close knit group of like minded gamers who came together under the same banner in January 2008, and later moved on to form TakeTwo after leaving their previous clans. Every so often games are picked out that the clan community is interested in; some of them - such as Star Wars The Old Republic and Guilds Wars 2 - go on to be, "Divisions," within our clan. Divisions are merely major releases that the clan has an interest in, or games where the clan has a large representation and a named guild within the game. Membership to the clan is non-exclusive, which means that if you are playing Star Wars The Old Republic, and fancy jumping into Guild Wars 2 you can do so without any hassle or delays.
Outside of our Divisions, TKT is a heap of other games we are playing as a group - such as RTS and FPS titles, as well as the infrequent F2P MMO. When we aren't playing a game of any particular focus, we spread ourselves thin and take in the gaming genre as a whole, frequently playing single player games and sharing our thoughts on them.
TakeTwo in Gaming
In MMOs, TakeTwo is focused on progression in every aspect of our gaming time. Whether we are striving for that next level or struggling to clear that last boss, we're always focused on moving forward. Once again however our invite-only nature gives us the room to fine-craft an experience in-game that will allow our members to progress but won't place untoward time demands on anyone; most of all we want people to feel like they are having fun and not feel like they are committing to a second job. For example, we don't use DKP as we believe that it acts only to segregate those who are the proverbial, "raid ******," from those who may not be able to commit every single hour of their spare time to gaming. In an open-application clan, DKP is the only real way to keep track of member contribution, but in an invite-only clan member contribution has already been assessed long before the demands of raiding or progressive PvP come around.
How to Join TakeTwo
As has been said a million times at this point, TKT is an invite-only clan. This means that there is no application process and no form to fill in. When TakeTwo was formed we felt that application processes were at best contrived and at worse pointless. We wanted a system where we could be sure that the people we were inviting to join us shared the same principles and ideals as TKT when it came to gaming in general. There is no better way to observe this than through actually playing games with the people you invite, and knowing them well enough to vouch for them. As such the only way you can get accepted into TKT is to be invited by one of our Leaders and Officers.
That's not to say we don't accept propositions for membership, and members of the community are more than welcome to send us a message through our website letting us know they are interested in joining us, should the slots be available.
