    Venomanias Fangirlismz

This thread will mostly be for myself, because it's going to my personal thoughts jotted down with links so I can use it again at a later date. With updates weekly, daily, hourly... the second I have them! So feel free to pop in and check what's new, because I'm sure there will be something interesting.

    So, Thought one;
Who here has played an mmo, on a crowded server... and been forced at peak time to sit and watch a number tick down. Before you can even play? Come on now, raise your hands! *raises hand* Yeah, that's what I thought Veno! You didn't like it did you? "Nope :< It was suuuppeeerrr boring!" Well! Fear not little one, for Anet has made that boring wait a thing of the past! They're introducing an
Overflow Server to handle their queues in GW2. Now... seriously lol. That's just amazing

I'm positive I am not alone in thinking this, but often in an MMO as I venture through a City. It feels as if it's over before it even begins. Where backdrops remains as just that, unreachable pictures. Where buildings remain solid boxes, unenterable, unusable, unexplorable and to be quite frank, a jolt back to reality. They serve as no more than a shocking realisation the City isn't really a City. It's a courtyard, or a pathway, consisting of a handful of usable buildings and just as few NPC's. This however, and trust me when I say this I've a grind on my face from ear to ear. Is not the case in GW2. Where the ambient noise alone is a reflection of the life inside the game. Where you're able to simply hear people talking, constantly, everywhere you go without having to force the interaction. They're simply going about their daily lives and you just happen to pass by. It's Organic, as true to the word as is possible.

I see GW2 as very much my PvP go to game. Despite this, I have to admit... it's doing a 'too good' a job at making me want to PvE. Like... oh my gawd. I've played enough MMO's by now, both English and Asian. To shock and awe even those most die hard genre fan. So I think it's pretty difficult to impress me. Even the 3rd party puzzle involving TSW has a hard time when basic gameplay is clunky as well. You really have to present your PvE to me, as a complete package. With all the kinks that might make playing a hindrance eradicated and none existent. So when I saw MikeB's 40 min playthrough of the Ascalon Catacombs, you can imagine my surprise when I hit the 40 minute mark and wanted more. It has such a fine blend of everything that makes an MMO great, then just enriches it. It does this the entire way through.

"Why the hell is that person backpeddling? Why are you strafting into a wall! Omg have you heard of dodging?"

How many of you have been thinking things of this ilk when watching some of the press attempt to feign innocence and act like they actually play games <.< I see this most often when they're commentating. Please keep in mind however that bad gameplay is better than no gameplay, as such I remain humble and thank each and everyone for their uploads. That does not mean my inner gamer doesn't pop it's ugly head into the back of my mind and scream every time I see some horrific fail attempt at playing.

It's for this reason I've had to spend some extra time hunting down none commentated raw gameplay from people who have a little bit more of a clue. If only to quell that little devil in the back of my head! Damn you Demon, Down! *whip*

I don't condone the act of stating another game is bad. Well, at least not in the public eye! They're often pure opinion and lack the logic required to convince me it's a justified opinion not routed in their own personal love some a different game.

So when I link this, please understand I feel Guild Wars Informer manages to state enough in their argument to make it feel less like a fangirl going wild, and more like an opinionated news report.
-Yes, there is a difference -.-

    "Guild Wars 2 Is
The MMO Revolution That Star Wars: The Old Republic Promised"

Damn though, that's a bold title lol.

All you Mesmer lovers out there must be in heaven right now, I feel like every press reporter and their mothers played one! Much to my disappointment. Alas, woe I will not. In every Mesmer related post there is tad bits of fun to be had for all. IGN posted a Mesmer perspective on there exploration of GW2, covering quite a few bases in a single article. A great read for anyone interested in the game.

I'm getting to see alot of Tweets about people saying, Guild Wars 2 looks good enough to be there first adventure into the world of MMO's. I'm really interested to see how the publicity created from this press weekend will influence none current gamers. I know Swtor really set the bar high for getting new players into the market. Let's hope GW2 can do as well, if not better

I'm a fan of the little things in Life, for someone like me who takes note of everything. They're what make or break some games for me! So when I see neat little features like how looting works in Guild Wars 2, I'm happily impressed. You press F to loot, much like in TERA. It's a fantastic mechanic. Then on the bottom right your loot is listed!

Do you ever re-watch a movie and suddenly notice a few extra things every time you do! Well that's how I feel watching some of these youtube gameplay videos. I keep noticing little UI elements that rise more questions!

Questions, Answers, Taking note of the obvious, and Taking note of things that are not obvious! Have you guys seen anything interesting with the UI you did not know about before?
