I was wondering of you'll be able to use a headset to talk to other players in GW2
because i think they did it in WoW and they didn't do it in GW1.
So if anyone knows![]()

To my knowledge Arenanet haven't mentioned this, but there is still Vent, Teamspeak, GSC and others. Anyone else heard anything?
I may be wrong, check what I say
Indeed, they haven't mentioned that, but... they mentioned to make social experience very complete in GW2, even providing some offline features (no clue what). So a simple voice communication ingame shouldn't be that unobvious.
But either way, most people will still rely on ventrilo or teamspeak (or gsc, mumble, whatever floats their boat).
It's true that WoW has an ingame voice-chat, although, as far as I know, very little people use it. Almost every Guild has it's own Ventrilo/Mumble/TS-server.
So I think, if GW2 will have an ingame voice-chat, not very much people will use it.
Yea, but the WoW thing just doesn't work great.
If GW2 makes some kind of automatic voice-chat group when you join a party or something, it will definitly be used.
Aye
Guild wars 2 really should put support in for Mumble, it looks sounds really good with low latency and positional sound. (when someone talks, their voice comes from the direction they are at) They could make it look better though, maybe with an in-game window for it. Or at least keep the idea of positional sound with their own in-game voice system whatever that may be.

Maybe when ur in a party i hope so :)? and that you can always mute them if you want to
I hope not, because WoW's voice chat is awful, Steam's is a little better, but awful still. So, most likely GW2's would be awful. They could do support for mumble, or ventrilo and it would be good.
But, atm Ventrilo, Team Speak, and Mumble are much better than in game voice chat, also your paying for it, but you get what you pay for.
if Guild Wars two had a system where you could hear anyone around you talking that would be cool. I mean like every one that has a microphone is being heard by everyone else. That way you could walk up to some random person and be like "hey whats up" and if he has a microphone or has enabled microphone chat he could instantly respond. The problem with that is trolls....but its a cool thought i think.
Anyone notice that the laptop smeagol's holding (in my profile picture) has GW2fans.com loaded on the screen? try looking even closer what do you see?
